Dirk Grosse-Leege to leave Volkswagen

Wolfsburg, 13 September 2006 - Dirk Grosse-Leege, Head of Group Communications at Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft since September 2002, is to leave the company at his own request in early 2007 to concentrate on new responsibilities. No decision regarding a successor has yet been taken.
Leege’s decision and thanked him for his services to the company. Dr. Bernd Pischetsrieder, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, said: "Over the last few years, Dirk Grosse-Leege has restructured communications for our Group and its brands worldwide and has set a new communications agenda. Although professional crisis communications was in demand last year, the team nevertheless staged exceptional launches, setting milestones for new products. I wish Mr. Grosse-Leege similar success in his future responsibilities."

Until his departure, Grosse-Leege will continue to perform all duties as Head of Group Communications and will support the company in the recruitment and induction of a successor.

Prior to joining Volkswagen, Dirk Grosse-Leege was corporate spokesman for Deutsche Bahn AG, Berlin. From 1996 until 2000, he was responsible for communications at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG. The trained journalist and economist began his career in industry in 1995, joining corporate communications at Deutsche Aerospace AG (now EADS) in Munich.
